Mission Namron is Norman backwards—community-grounded and offbeat. We embrace the diverse artistic culture emerging from our city and wish to encourage this Renaissance with performances that take risks and challenge our audiences intellectually. We seek to provide Norman with mature modern theatre, utilizing the talents of local playwrights and actors. We believe theatre at its best is a shared visceral experience with a definite impact. Namron is also committed to the affordable art movement, recognizing that our city is better served by an inexpensive theatre outlet, thereby increasing audience accessibility.
Background In 2012, Norman natives Cait Goddard, Nicholas Bartell, and Sarah King decided to bring original modern theatre to their community. They consulted a lawyer and filed all the necessary paperwork to become a 501c3 federal nonprofit and a charitable organization in the state of Oklahoma, and in March 2012, performed their inaugural production, "The Taylor Trap," an original one-act script written and directed by Sarah King. Namron kept growing strong after the start, and has performed more than a dozen shows featuring original scripts and local artists. Namron currently performs 3 shows a year: the annual 24 Hour Plays, a summer show for families and children, and a fall show featuring an original full-length script and a 2-week run. We focus on original works featuring local artists, and welcome any newcomers to audition and take part in our collaborations.
Impact
In 2014, Namron became a member of the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, and we took part in their Standards for Excellence certification. In April 2014, Namron participated in the Norman Arts Council's "StART Norman" event, performing a staged reading of an original full-length script entitled "On Puppets" by Chairman Sarah King.

Our goals for 2015 are to apply for an operational support grant from the Norman Arts Council to support our theatrical season, to produce a 2nd annual free admission show for children and families at the Andrews Park Amphitheater, and to further educate our board of directors on how to make Namron even more efficient and effective.
Needs
1. Project proposals -- we want the community to be at the heart of Namron. Therefore, we need your participation. Any project proposals or script submissions should be emailed without hesitation to NamronPlayers@gmail.com.

2. Financial donations -- Namron only charges $5 per ticket for all shows, and all that money goes right back into production costs. Please help us supplement our season and build for the future by making a cash donation on our website or inquiring in an email.

3. Prop and Costume Donations -- Namron will accept unique costumes or props to keep in our stock for future productions. Please email us if you have a donation, and if it is an item we can use, we will arrange a pick up!

4. Rehearsal Space -- Often we find that our shows do not have a place to rehearse, due to our limited funds for renting spaces. If your or anyone you know has access to a large open space in central Norman, and would like to donate the use of that space for rehearsing one of our 3 mainstage shows per season, please let us know via email.

5. Audience members -- we love a packed house! Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with our performances and events, and subscribe to our newsletter by emailing NamronPlayers@gmail.com.
Board Chair Statement My name is Sarah King, and I founded Namron because I love my town. I love bringing joy and art to my community, and joining with others to work toward a common goal and produce something truly magical. In order for Namron to thrive, we need Norman. We are not a closed clique of holier-than-thou elitists -- we want everyone who feels the itch to perform to come and be a part of our team. Don't be afraid! We love making new friends. So come out to our next audition or production, and I would love to chat personally about what Namron and you can do together.

Programs
Description Every year since our first year of existence, Namron has put on a production of the 24 Hour Plays. Created by the 24 Hour Company in New York, this format allows us to create all-new original theatre in just one day. On Friday night, a team of actors, writers, and directors gather together and kickoff the day. The writers stay up all night creating new short plays, then at 6 a.m. Saturday morning the directors and actors get the scripts and begin rehearsing all day, to perform these plays fully staged and memorized that evening. It's a brisk and joyous experience, and one we're proud to open our season with each year.

Program Short-term SuccessHelpDescription of short-term achievement(s) or improvement(s) that will result from this program. The 24 Hour Plays give an outlet to artists in our community who may not have the available time for a month-long rehearsal process, but do have one day to dedicate fully to producing a play. This gives Namron the chance to meet new artists, and building our talent pool for the upcoming shows that season.
Program Long-term SuccessHelpDescription of the ultimate change(s) that will result from this program. This may be far into the future or represent an ideal state. Namron will continue to perform our Annual 24 Hour Plays every season, and hope to grow from the 3 scripts we produce now to a longer format with more scripts featuring more local artists.
Examples of Program SuccessHelpSpecific examples of changes in behaviors or testimonies of changes that demonstrate program success. Every year, our participants end the process glowing with pride and our audience members say it's better than the last year. We continue to grow in our 24 Hour Plays and can't wait to see what the next set of new plays will bring.

Comments on Financials
CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Namron has just one bank account, and no physical property or investments or debts. Sarah King started Namron with $500 of her own money in 2012, and the $500 was returned to her in 2013 once Namron had built up its own nest egg. All of Namron's funds consist of admission fees and donations. We have so far received one grant, a $100 membership fee to the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits paid for by the Norman Arts Council, and hope to increase our grants in the future.
