Donate Here

The Center of Family Love depends on tax-deductible donations to continue our work in helping adults with intellectual disabilities.  Your general donations help in our unmet needs for medical equipment and supplies, handicap accessible transportation, along with many other day to day needs of individuals.  All capital needs are also purchased through donations and help to maintain or add to our facilities and ultimately the quality of care we are able to provide.

Volunteers are a major support to our organization.  There are many projects possible for you, your family, group or company.  Please contact the Center of Family Love at link above to share your information and for more details.  We look forward to working with you on a project that fits your time and abilities.  Thank you!

Mission

The Center of Family Love's mission is to provide quality lifetime care for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Background

In response to limited resources and training available in the community for adults with intellectual disabilities, the Center of Family Love was established by families to provide quality care to meet their needs.  Men of these founding families were active members of the Oklahoma Knights of Columbus, a statewide organization that embraced their cause.

With that beginning, the Center of Family Love has developed into a multifaceted organization providing a full spectrum of care and services to meet our mission to provide quality lifetime care for adults with intellectual disabilities. This is done by providing programs designed to allow each person the opportunity to reach greater levels of wellness and independence in a healthy and supportive environment. Our strengths lie in caring for the individual needs of our residents, and also in seeking new and creative ways to allow them to thrive with activity and connection to those around them.

The Center of Family Love was established over 37 years ago in Okarche, Oklahoma with locations now also in Kingfisher and El Reno. Providing for adults with intellectual disabilities, many of whom are also physically and medically disabled, we serve 130 individuals from across the state through residential care and vocational opportunities.

Description

Our vocational programs provide residents with work at local businesses or in work centers. These vocational training and employment programs utilize the assistance of a job coach at each site to help grow and develop each person in their work. With locations in Okarche, El Reno and Kingfisher we are able to enhance socialization and work skills as well as educate the public on the abilities and strengths of each person. For residents unable to work in the community we provide educational, therapeutic and pre-vocational work training in a controlled environment on the Okarche campus. These programs and activities are a part of individual care plans to meet development goals in positive ways.
