Mission Dedicated to providing the resources for books, material and activities that promote literacy and enrich learning in our library, schools and community.
The Friends of the Mustang Public Library was started in 2001 and incorporated in 2002 with the idea that we could provide much needed funds for the childrens area of the library.  Some of the books were in such shape that they were taped together.  There were a limited amount of books at that time.  WE HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE.
We are a small group of dedicated individuals with a vision for the excellence of our library.  We have a talented library director and library board that works very well with the organization.
We have gone from 3500 sf to 13,255 sf and will be at 20,455 sf after our expansion because our community stands behind us.
Our top three accomplishment for this year:
1.  Purchased and installed a LED sign (4'x10') for the library.
2.  Promoted library for a bond election to enlarge the library-it passed.
3.  Provided funds for summer reading program.
Goals for current year:
1.  Provide funds for furnishing the library expansion
2.  Continue to provide funds for programs
3.  Fundraising for current year (Chocolate Festival, Golf tournament and exploring a 5 K Run to become an annual event) 
The funds estimated for the expansion were for the bare bones of the building.
Friends of the Mustang Library will provide funds for some of the furniture.  We want to concentrate on the children's section with a unique and inviting  colorful design.

The Mustang Public Library serves not only our small town of 18,000 but the small towns of Minco, Tuttle, Union City and surrounding counties.
