Mission To help the Purcell Public School system provide opportunities that enrich and enhance academic excellence and strengthen educational programs for all Purcell students.
Background The Purcell Public School Foundation was created in 1992 by a group of community leaders. Over the years PPSF has awarded teachers grants that enhance the learning environment for the students. The organization does not purchase items normally provided by the school district instead it encourages teachers to find new innovative ways to teach the material.
The Foundation to date has awarded over $140,000 in grants to the teachers within the Purcell Public School District.
Impact
Our top achievement from last year was awarding over $10,000.00 to our teachers for innovative grants to be used in the classroom.  Our foundation has taken pride in continuing to support our teachers with classroom material due to lack of funding.
Needs
The foundation's primary goal is to create an endowment to be able to support our teachers needs throughout the year.  The endowment fund would allow us to use interest earned as our primary funding for the grants while our fundraisers would allow us to assist in special projects.  Monetary donations would be the most pressing need to help establish this fund.
CEO/Executive Director Statement
Our organization's primary objective is to provide funding for teachers to implement new creative ways to adapt their lessons to the students.  We also help fund projects for the teachers for equipment or materials when no funding from the district is available.  The PPSF takes great pride in our school district and giving every student the opportunity to succeed.
Board Chair Statement
Our board is comprised of business leaders from the community along with parents and grandparents of students enrolled in our district.  We all have personal investment in our foundation to support our school district.  All board members have given financially to our foundation each year without ever having a requirement in our bylaws.  Most board members are alumni or parents of alumni who hope to one day have a foundation that can provide more learning opportunities for future students.  As all school districts ours is facing a financial shortfall and we believe it is our duty to give every teacher the opportunity to help our students.

Our short term goal would be achieved by having each graduating class from Purcell make a monetary donation to our endowment fund for the sole purpose of reaching our goal.
Program Long-term SuccessHelpDescription of the ultimate change(s) that will result from this program. This may be far into the future or represent an ideal state.
It is our long term goal that the endowment interest would generate $10,000 to $20,000 a year to be used towards educational needs of our teachers.
Program Success MonitoringHelpDescription of the tools used to measure or track program impact.
Our program success will be measured by the amount of monetary donations received.  We will also determine our direction based on the feedback we receive from the alumni and donors.

Comments on Programs
CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
Our organization faces a challenge that is fairly unique.  As our district faces a financial shortfall the teachers are requesting needs for educational supplies that include headphones, iPads for English Secondary Language Learners, novels to be used in English classes just to name a few.  The need is growing each year due to lack of funding from the state and district.  As a foundation we try to provide the teachers with the ability to teach the students in a way that reaches every student.

Capital Campaign
Currently in a Capital Campaign? Anticipated In 3 Years
Campaign Purpose We will be doing a campaign that involves the alumni in an effort to raise $50,000 per year for 3 years to be deposited in the endowment. We will be asking the last 50 graduating classes to raise $1,000 per class in an effort to establish the fund. Our goal would be to have $250,000 in the endowment by 2025. The purpose of creating an endowment fund is to allow the PPSF to receive annual distributions to be used for innovative grants for all students/teachers within the Purcell Public School System. It will also establish a long term source of income from funds in an effort to not rely on fundraisers each year.
Campaign Goal $250,000
Campaign Dates Apr 2016 to Dec 2021
Amount Raised To Date $0 as of Mar 2016

Comments on Financials
CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
We have been distributing all funds raised for the past two years.  Since we have no overhead and such a demand for assistance within the school district we have elected to distribute all monies back into the classroom.  In the future we anticipate doing the same along with doing an endowment campaign designated towards our endowment.
