Mission To be a partner in the community making equal justice for all a reality.
Legal Aid services of Oklahoma, Inc. merged in 2002 from two legal aid organizations, Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma and Legal Services of Eastern Oklahoma. We provide civil legal services to low-income and elderly Oklahomans. We are the only law firm in the state who provides these services at no cost.
Needs We need more pro bono attorneys to assist with cases we are unable to take. We need more funding so that we can increase salaries and keep the good staff we have and hire attorneys who share our mission.

Disaster Programs
Description LARC is a collaborative forum of agencies providing long-term disaster recovery services to those impacted by the disasters in central Oklahoma since spring 2013.  Efforts for the spring 2013 recovery are ongoing as LARC transitions to extend support to those recovering from the spring 2015 disasters in central Oklahoma  .
Previous Disaster ExperienceHelpOrganization's previous experience during the immediate response, recovery or rebuilding phases following a disaster. Central Oklahoma was the subject of a 2013 Major Disaster Declaration following the devastating tornadoes of May and June in Shawnee, Moore and El Reno.  LASO advocates responded immediately, providing information in the Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) to over 700 disaster-affected persons and their families.  Since that time, LASO has served several hundred families with disaster-related legal issues such as contractor fraud, landlord-tenant problems, and insurance companies withholding proceeds from landowners.
