Previous Disaster ExperienceHelpOrganization's previous experience during the immediate response, recovery or rebuilding phases following a disaster. Central Oklahoma was the subject of a 2013 Major Disaster Declaration following the devastating tornadoes of May and June in Shawnee, Moore and El Reno.  LASO advocates responded immediately, providing information in the Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) to over 700 disaster-affected persons and their families.  Since that time, LASO has served several hundred families with disaster-related legal issues such as contractor fraud, landlord-tenant problems, and insurance companies withholding proceeds from landowners.
