Mission Statement The Genesis Project provides therapeutic residential services to six to twelve year old boys who have been removed from their homes due to traumatic emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse with the goal of stabilizing disruptive behaviors that would preclude them from living in adoptive or therapeutic foster homes. As a result of their past abuse, the Genesis youth are left with serious emotional problems that require twenty four hour a day supervision. In addition to individual and group therapy, modules are provided to lay the framework for youth to learn and practice daily living skills, social skills, recreation, and develop coping skills to work through past abuse. The program is intended for 18-24 months prior to youth moving onto a lower level of care such as, foster homes, adoption, or reunification.
A lovely fall day at the Genesis house.

The program is intended for 18-24 months prior to youth moving onto a lower level of care such as, foster homes, adoption, or reunification.
Background Genesis opened their doors in 1985, and in the early years cared for both boys and girls. In 1987 changes began with an individualized treatment model for the program. Eventually the program focused on treating boys ages 6-12. Genesis entered into an agreement with OKDHS to become a Level E Boys Group Home specializing in the care of youth that have experienced severe abuse and/or neglect. On average when a youth comes into the program they have experienced about 17 different placements. Genesis is meant to help the youth stabilize troublesome behaviors as they prepare for a more permanent home setting. The treatment program at Genesis is meant to be an 18-24 month program.
CEO/Executive Director Statement The lives of the children at Genesis have been disrupted causing them to miss out on being a child. Genesis looks to provide consistency and normalcy back into their lives, and work with them to find permanency be it foster care, adoption, or reunification. The abuse suffered by these youth have taken their voices and choices away. Genesis hopes to empower the youth through individualized and trauma informed treatment.
